Teacher Accreditation

Teacher accreditationAll schools require a professional approach to any sort of voluntary work that is undertaken in the classroom. Accreditation is our way of ensuring that children are being delivered relevant content in a safe and appropriate way.

So how do I become an accredited RE teacher?
  1. Send us your church endorsement form.

  2. Send us your police vetting form with a stamped, self addressed envelope.

  3. Complete the Basic Training Course. (NZ trained teachers have some exemptions.) Click here for training dates or contact us for more information.
  4. Have an observed lesson (3-6 months after starting - contact your team leader for details).

Do I have to renew my accreditation?

Yes. Accreditation lasts for five years, after which you will need to submit the church endorsement form again, attend a refresher training course and be observed teaching. Police vetting needs renewing every three years.

For more information on Accreditation and renewal, please contact us or speak to your Team Leader/Zone Coordinator.
